Education

Welcome to the Wollondilly Performing Arts Centre’s Education Program.

The Wollondilly PAC is a state of the art regional theatre that opened in November 2024. It has high quality performance facilities including a flexible flat floor auditorium with retractable seating for 350 people, that can also be configured for smaller stage layouts seating up to 500 people, or for functions for up to 300 people at tables of 10. It is fully fitted out with professional audio-visual and lighting equipment, to support the presentation of live events including music concerts, theatre productions, circus, films and more. It is operated by a professional staff team including technical and production specialists, box office and administration services, and marketing officer.

EDUCATION SERVICES

The PAC is a major capital investment in cultural infrastructure for the region, and a high priority for Council is that the community benefits from the high-quality equipment and technical expertise on-site. We are keen to work with local schools and education facilities to engage students with the theatre in a range of different experiences. We have three key offerings for educational facilities.

1 - SPECIALIST CHILDREN’S AND YOUNG PEOPLE’S THEATRE PROGRAMMING

Throughout 2025 we will offer a diverse program of live performance and engagement activities (workshops, educational resources, Q and As etc) targeted to all age groups from early childhood to senior high school. We offer dedicated schools’ shows as well as matinee performances of general admission performances suitable for schools. All school shows and matinees have discounted tickets of $15 for students with 1 free teacher admission per 25 students (up to 2 free tickets). Additional teachers are at student prices. Discounted ticket prices also apply for evening performances where schools have booked through the Box Office.

Details of the full education program is available through our marketing officer. Please complete and return the booking form, or contact our box office to order and pay for your tickets. Some of the performances offer a free workshop. We will be allocating these to schools that have booked to see the show. Please indicate your interest in available workshops on the booking form.

2 - VENUE FOR HIRE FOR SCHOOL CONCERTS, FUNCTIONS AND EVENTS

The venue can be configured for theatre or concert performances using the full stage area with seating for up to 350, or for smaller scale events such as awards nights or presentation days, seating up to 500 with a minimal stage area. We have a full range of technical equipment including lighting and AV equipment, including a 15000 lumens projector, as well as microphones, risers and amplifiers for live music and orchestra chairs and music stands. A full list of equipment and tech specs are available on request. Discounted hire rates are available for schools and community events.

3 - TRAINING AND WORK EXPERIENCE FOR STUDENTS

An important objective of the PAC is to increase community cultural capacity, and to help create pathways for local young people wanting to investigate careers in the arts industry. We are keen to work with high schools to identify the types of learning experiences that their students would benefit from and which we can provide. This could include short term work experience placement, on-site training and skills workshops, and industry placements and experience.
