The Auditorium is a versatile flat-floor space featuring two banks of retractable raked seating. The standard end-on theatre layout includes 280 seats in the main bank (with 8 wheelchair spaces) and an additional 72 seats in three rows within a recessed area that can also serve as an orchestra pit. This configuration maximises the stage space (12.5m x 9.8m) and is ideal for bands, dance concerts, and larger theatre performances.
For flexibility, two non-standard theatre layouts are also available, where the orchestra pit is closed, and rows of chairs are utilised with a raised stage area:
Medium Performance Area
Total seating for 448, comprising 280 seats in the retractable seating bank (with 8 wheelchair locations) and 7 rows of floor seating. The raised stage (8m x 4m) is ideal for smaller-scale theatre performances, acoustic music, and small ensembles.
Small Performance Area
Total seating for 512, comprising 280 seats in the retractable seating bank and 10 rows of floor seating. This configuration accommodates up to 16 wheelchair spaces. The raised stage (8m x 3m) is perfect for intimate performances, such as comedy acts or small music performances by soloists or duos.
For special events, the Function or Cabaret Layout allows for the seating bank to be fully retracted and the orchestra pit closed. This setup can accommodate sit-down dinners for up to 300 guests, cabaret events with tables and chairs, or stand-up performances and cocktail-style functions.
The Studio at WPAC is a highly adaptable, flat-floor space designed to meet the needs of various creative and professional activities. It features a durable vinyl dance floor, making it perfect for movement-based activities such as dance rehearsals and performances.
One wall is fitted with full-length mirrors, which can be covered by curtains when required, offering flexibility for different types of events.
With a maximum seating capacity of 50, the Studio is well-suited for intimate workshops, rehearsals, creative developments, small meetings, and community gatherings. Its compact yet functional design makes it ideal for projects that require a dedicated space to foster creativity and collaboration.
