Wollondilly Performing Arts Centre is a state of the art performing arts centre, community and civic centre, based in Picton in the heart of Wollondilly Shire. Opened in 2024 and operated by Wollondilly Shire Council it is the centrepiece of the Wollondilly Cultural and Community Precinct, a visionary project that will be the focus of cultural and creative life for the region.  

Our Facilities

The Centre features a flexible, flat-floor auditorium with retractable seating, an orchestra pit, and a studio equipped with mirrors, drapes, and Tarkett flooring. Visitors will also find:

  • A welcoming foyer and bar area
  • A commercial kitchen
  • A meeting room and offices
  • An exhibition space
  • A green room and four dressing rooms

The venue includes a loading dock accessible via Colden Street, accommodating vehicles up to semi-trailer length. All areas of the building are fully accessible, with inclusive bathrooms in both front and back-of-house locations.

Design and Inspiration

Designed by Williams Ross Architects, the Centre incorporates design elements inspired by the Lyrebird and Water Dragon totems of the Dharawal and Gundungurra Peoples. Its adaptable layout allows for multiple configurations, supporting everything from theatre performances to cabaret-style events with seating for up to 300 people.

- Award ceremonies and public meetings

Each year, the Centre presents a program of curated performances suitable for all ages. It is also available for hire by commercial touring operators, schools, and community organisations.
